Cool Earth Coffee heads for 600 Tesco stores
Cool Earth is a rainforest charity which protects trees at imminent risk of deforestation. So far Cool Earth is protecting 125,000 acres of Amazon rainforest which would have been destroyed without their intervention.
whynot!, Cool Earth’s marketing and promotions agency, have been working with Fine Foods International and have successfully listed Cool Earth Coffee into 600 Tesco stores across the UK, from 8 November. The on-going marketing strategy includes sampling, media and online promotions.
Andy Agar, whynot!’s chief executive says ‘This extension of the Cool Earth brand will support the important work of tackling deforestation. We are delighted that Tesco customers will have the chance to help support us in saving thousands of trees and protecting our environment for the future.’
Peter Wortsman, Tesco senior buyer for Hot Beverages comments ’We believe our customers want to do their bit to help the environment, and are looking for ways to translate this desire in their shopping habits. As such, we are proud to be launching Cool Earth coffee, which is not only a great tasting coffee at a keen price, but also helps the environment as a portion of the profits will go toward protecting our rainforests.’
Cool Earth Coffee is produced and manufactured by FFI (Fine Foods International) from 100% Rainforest Alliance Certified Brazilian coffee beans. Each purchase of a 100g jar of coffee at £2.99 protects a critically endangered tree in the Amazon rainforest which would otherwise fall victim to loggers within 18 months.
