Jack Wills tanks up in Gorilla's Hagglund
Jack Wills, the university clothing company will work with Gorilla in a rebranded Hagglund for the Varsity Trip to Val Thorens. The Hagglund will allow the Jack Will's event DJs to power the party in the mountains.
The Varsity Trip, targeted at Oxford and Cambridge students, will see 2500 people descend upon Val Thorens, the highest European ski village for this year's events. The week long Varsity Trips were first held in 1922 and have hosted a number of sporting events between the two universities as well as plenty of recreational events.
Organisers have confirmed that this year they will be hosting a high altitude pool and beach party "so people can get away from the slopes and strip off". The two sides, from Oxford and Cambridge, will battle it out on the slopes in events such as slalom, giant slalom, super G, boardercross, skicross and many others all complemented by and high energy partying.
This year Gorilla Marketing & Events' all terrain DJ platform is being sponsored by Jack Wills the exclusive, British, specialist university clothing company and has been rebranded - from a previous outing for Monster Energy as "The Jack Wills Tank", it will be touring around the town and the slopes blasting out sounds from a line up of top DJs throughout the eight day event.
"This is the perfect gig for the Hagglund, it has already climbed to the top of Ben Nevis for the 2010 MTB World Cup in Fort William 2010 and that is 918 metres, Val Thorens is 2300m but whatever the altitude it will be able to deliver the DJ and high energy music." said Andy Butts, MD of Gorilla.
"It was designed to be a versatile DJ platform that could be used just about anywhere, it's based on an ex-military Hagglund BV206 twin track which means it can deliver music to some pretty hard to reach places." he added.
