Groundswell festival seeks authentic brand support
Allez-oop, the team behind the award winning Jersey-based Grassroots festival, is launching another festival to add to their event rosta, called Groundswell. Branding opportunities are overseen by the experienced experiential events marketer, Ian Bushell.
Groundswell, a new music festival combining sun, surf, international music acts and eco-credibility, promises to be a fresh addition to the European festival circuit for 2011. To be held on September 17th, Groundswell is being managed by events company Allez-oop and will take place amongst the world-class waves and stunning beaches of Hossegor and surrounding regions, just half an hour north of Biarritz in the South West of France.
Groundswell is expecting a crowd of 15,000 fun-loving, ocean-mad revelers, there to enjoy their own endless summer by checking out live music at the Groundswell Main Stage, Groundswell Dance Arena and Grassroots Stage, and by experiencing other attractions including the Eco Village, Action SportsExpo and Global Food Village.
“Our aim is to make Groundswell more than just a music event,” said Allez-oop Co-Director Linzi Wilson. “We will enable our audience to experience all that Hossegor and the surrounding area has to offer with exclusive travel packages. We'll make sure festival goers have access to the best deals for accommodation, surf lessons, bike hire, and much more. We will keep you up to date with the latest surf reports, club nights and Groundswell activities. Groundswell is everything you need for an amazing summer, surf, sound experience”
Like Grassroots in Jersey, Groundswell will be a carbon neutral event, using innovative concepts to engage the festival goer and ensure total environmental awareness.
Allezoop has brought onboard commercial director Ian Bushell. Bushell brings over 20 years of music industry experience and has been responsible for some of the world’s biggest and most successful multi-media entertainment platforms over the last ten years, heading up events at world-renowned dance brand Ministry of Sound and the unique event concept for Formula 1, F1 Rocks.
Bushell jumped at the chance to be involved in Groundswell, sighting its ethical and grassroots approach: “Having worked on a huge variety of global music and live event projects I am genuinely excited to be part of the Allez-oop team and to be working with passionate, ethical and committed people, something quite rare in the business today”.
“Our ambition is to partner with brands relevant to our audience,” he continued, “and in a way that is beyond traditional sponsorship ensuring our partners enjoy genuine integration into what will be a multi media platform but importantly also add to the overall Groundswell experience”.
Such is the collective excitement, interest and know how around the project, plans are already being made for a bigger two day Groundswell festival in 2012 and other Groundswell events at surf locations in Portugal, Australia and Japan.
Tickets for Groundswell start at €45, with further line-up and brand partnerships to be announced soon.
