Sky ups its ante at the O2 with Sky News HD Live
Sky News HD Live has launched with a news presenting masterclass from Charlotte Hawkins.
The ‘Live’ studio offers presenters a chance to record their own set of news headlines. The event, in London Piazza at The O2 is targeted at youngsters and their families: Sky announced: “So put your mum in charge of the autocue and get dad behind the camera while you get ready for your close up.”
New scripts are created daily, scripted by the Sunrise breakfast crew, keeping the News event newsworthy. Recordings can then be downloaded from Sky’s website.
Sky customers can also enter a competition via the experience; the winners will receive a studio tour.
The experience has been developed and created for Sky by agency RPM. RPM and Sky have been creating brand experiences together for a number of years.
This event increases the relationship between Sky and The O2. Sky is covering a host of live music and sports events from the venue including Premier League Darts. Often these events include chances for Sky customers to mingle with the stars in Sky Backstage. Upcoming ‘mingle’ opportunities include the post performance champagne bash following Placido Domingo and Angela Gheorghiu in concert and the aftermatch arftermath with NBA legends following the Nets vs. Raptors game.
Other Sky attractions at The O2 include the Europe’s largest 3D cinema screen, Sky Superscreen and a 3D experience called Sky Gallery.
