SEAT's Young Driver programme comes to Meadowhall
The SEAT Young Driver Programme teaches 11-17 year olds the craft of driving carefully before they’re old enough to legally take to the open road and it aarived in Sheffield's Meadowhall centre on Saturaday 5th March.
Research shows that accident rates among early drivers are slashed by as much as 40% if they’re exposed to driving tuition when they are at their most receptive, in their middle teens.
Sponsored by Admiral Multicar Insurance, car firm SEAT UK and Pirelli tyres, Young Driver teaches 11 to 17 years old to drive in dual-control cars in a safe, legal environment. Professional ADI instructors have been impressed by how focussed and determined teen learners have been, showing unprecedented commitment to taking driving seriously.
Motoring Commentator, Quentin Willson approves - “I’ve put my 11 year-old son on the programme and I’ve never seen him concentrate so hard. Young Driver is a road safety revolution in the making and it is great news for Sheffield that the programme is opening there.”
Using 200 new SEAT Ibiza 1.2S models, specially-designed driving zones and highly qualified instructors, the experience has been a hit amongst both teen drivers and parents. Lessons start at just £29.99 inc VAT.
Young Driver opened at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre in October 2009. Since then, over 15,000 lessons have been delivered at five UK venues including London, Glasgow, Dartford, Bristol and Birmingham. In addition to the opening of Meadowhall in March, further venues are also set to open in Southampton and Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the spring.
Bookings can be taken via the website www.youngdriver.eu or by telephone on 0844 371 9010.
