uDraw launched in the UK by thefield
THQ has launched the ‘uDraw’ tablet, its revolutionary new drawing platform extension for the Wii console. A new world of art, play and imagination for the Wii, uDraw has already launched to huge success in the USA and is expected to do well in the UK.
Full service experiential agency ‘thefield’ has been appointed as lead agency for experiential and digital comms. thefield has introduced social media agency Neoco to aid with social integration online.
The campaign will focus initially on enabling kids and parents to trial the uDraw Game Tablet and the supporting software in shopping malls throughout March, April and May, but plans to extend the experiential activity across a range of summer events and festivals throughout 2011 are progressing.
'thefield’ managing director Chris Dawson said:
“We have created an entertaining experience for families which immerses them in the ‘World of uDraw’ allowing for creative expression and fun! The uDraw Tour provides both a compelling experience for kids and families and also allows for purchase of the product at a special discount with a retail partner.”
He added:
“Our ‘dedicated facebook page’ allows kids and their proud parents the chance to showcase their kids artwork online and share with friends and family as well as through the ‘World of uDraw’ website.”
The uDraw product, a hardware first for THQ, has wowed consumers in the USA where it launched last November and is currently smashing sales targets. This Nintendo approved extension to the popular family console is the first to have SD card functionality as standard – enabling kids and parents to print out artwork and share it online.
UK & EMEA product marketing manager Elizabeth Blackman said:
“We are extremely excited to be able to introduce uDraw to the public in March! The product is awesome and a real first for the industry and for THQ.”
