Voyages SNCF and the Travel Machine
French rail online ticket vendor, Voyages-SNCF has just released a ‘made to film’ brand experience in Paris. In what may be the most joyous brand experience of the year, ‘Travel Machine’ passers-by get to push a red button to get a ticket to ‘Escape’ to any destination they want – including, in the example, ‘Angleterre.’
Close viewing of the campaign shows that the activity was something of a PR stunt, with many press photographers in attendance, rather spoiling the surprise factor, but the live activity conveys a great sense of celebration of spontaneity nevertheless.
The video shows off the train tickets meet Willy Wonka excitement.
The campaign is a follow up to last year’s ‘Welcome Sylvie’ in which extravagant welcomes and goodbyes were put on for individuals at the station – including a heavy metal band singing directly to Sylvie, a martial arts team, a mob of obsessive women in love, a circus performance for two children and a rolling white grand piano and player.
