Fourth tour for switchover for Sky and RPM
A mini casino is this year's addition to an ongoing tour for Sky TV promoting the Digital Switch Over and the benefits of Sky television
Sky is set to launch the UK’s smallest casino, created by leading marketing agency RPM, as part of the Sky DSO Road Show. The campaign is now in its fourth roadshow over three years.
The casino, set up to launch new television series The Defenders, will feature a red carpet, plasma screen, roulette tables, accompanying dealers ‘The Croupiers’ and roaming magician to the stars - ‘Gerry Sims’ .
The unique road show is set to educate and entertain families on the Digital Switchover, demonstrating the ability to use and interact with Sky products in the home as well as creating an enjoyable brand experience.
Featuring a Sky Choice Stage with a changing array of entertainment including an MTV nail and hairdressing bar with additional green screen photography studio, the roadshow has also included Q&A’s from Sky Sports athletes, a roaming Dora The Explorer and live dance performances from Sky’s ‘Got To Dance’ auditionees.
Sophie Gordon, marketing manager, acquisition strategy at Sky said “In 2009 and 2010 the Sky DSO Road Show travelled to 25 different locations across the UK, resulting in over 80,000 interactions. We know from experience it is an effective tool to engage with families about Sky, helping to create a positive brand experience and more importantly educating them on the Digital Switchover. We are once again working with RPM, using their tools and expertise to drive engagement and understanding of Sky’s services”.
The multi-sensory road show also features a permanent Sky 3D pod, in which consumers are able to experience Sky 3D in the comfort of ‘home-like’ surroundings, as well as a Sky Product Pod, in which Sky sales teams demonstrate and inform consumers on the various different ways to experience Sky in the home, through Sky Multi-Room, Sky Any Time, Sky Via X Box and Kinect, and Sky Broadband.
Dom Robertson, managing director of RPM said: “The Sky DSO Road Show provides an interactive, engaging experience for all the family, bringing the Sky brand to life, and helping consumers to see the benefits of Sky’s Digital package. The road show offers a clear value exchange, and we’re looking forward to delivering a powerful experience to all visitors throughout the duration of the campaign.”
