Cadbury and Palmer and Harvey announce year long partnership before Pro-retail
Cadbury and Palmer and Harvey have announced details of a year-long partnership, which kicks off with Cadbury as headline sponsor of Palmer's and Harvey's Pro-retail event (Telford 10 - 11 May).
Cadbury is the Official Treat Provider of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games and in August 2010, launched a two year campaign to get the nation playing by dividing into two teams, the Spots and the Stripes. Visitors to the Cadbury stand at Pro-retail will be able to find out more about how to get involved with this exciting campaign.
Also at this year’s Pro-retail show, Cadbury will be showcasing a great tasting and innovative new chocolate product, alongside classic best-sellers like Cadbury Twirl, the number one selling chocolate countline bar. In addition, there will also be an exciting new Cadbury TV advert airing at the show.
Following Pro-retail 2011, Palmer and Harvey will be using its scale to ensure that key stakeholders in the convenience sector are engaged and excited by the Cadbury Spots v Stripes campaign. This will involve everything from getting NPD to market quickly, retailer education, retailer engagement through POS materials and community programmes.
Steve Fahey, wholesale controller at Cadbury, comments, "We're using Spots v Stripes game playing as a catalyst to connect people and build social cohesion and stronger communities, leaving a lasting legacy beyond 2012. Retailers are often at the heart of their community and there's a great opportunity for them to get involved with Spots v Stripes in the lead up to the Olympics and beyond. P&H has an excellent knowledge of the industry and strong links with the convenience sector, so it made sense for us to work together, to help retailers drive their sales of Cadbury products and in particular, make the most of the opportunity the Spots v Stripes campaign offers retailers."
Richard Hayhoe, marketing director, Palmer and Harvey says, "Confectionery is a key part of any independent retailer’s business and every shopkeeper needs to stock Cadbury in their confectionery category. We're really excited to be involved with helping to bring Cadbury's exciting plans for Spots v Stripes to retailers in the run-up to the Olympics."
Pro Retail takes place on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 May 2011 at the International Centre in Telford, Shropshire.
