Levi Root's Lazy Sunday sees food and music in marketing mix
Reggae Reggae legend Levi Roots wowed the crowds at Brockwell Park this Sunday as he performed his favourite tracks on stage and demonstrated his famous Caribbean cooking style. Visitors got a chance to sample Levi Roots’ range of delicious Caribbean Meals which were served throughout the day as families enjoyed the free entertainment.
Commenting on the success of the event, Levi says: “Lazy Sunday was a fantastic opportunity for me to indulge in my two great passions, music and food, and share both with everyone at the event.” He continues: “My new dish of BBQ Chicken & Sunshine Rice was a real crowd pleaser and really brought the sunshine of the Caribbean to London.”
The event was designed to promote Levi’s range of meals that are available through Tesco stores and it provided an enjoyable relaxed family day. Other support acts performing throughout the day included Panash (local steel band), The Stylinquents (Street dance act) and compere Rupert Bass6. Levi also spent time mingling with the crowd, signing autographs for fans and passing on his Reggae Reggae cookery tips.
The musician, chef and entrepreneur has recently added two more exciting dishes; BBQ Chicken & Sunshine Rice and Brixton Style Prawn Curry to his range of nine delicious Chilled Caribbean Meals which already includes established favourites such as Reggae Reggae Chicken and Caribbean Curried Noodles.
Levi’s success has been nothing short of a whirlwind, the MOBO nominated musician recently joined London Mayor Boris Johnson, actress Barbara Windsor and fellow celebrity chef Antony Worrall Thompson to launch ‘The Big Lunch’ annual one day get together – where neighbours and local communities share lunch and enjoy a street party.
