Panasonic takes Pirates on 3D Tour with Closer Live
Live media agency Closer Live has developed a Full High Definition (HD) 3D Cinema Roadshow for Panasonic designed to showcase the exciting possibilities of the 3D experience directly to consumers. The campaign began in May 2011 and will run for 27 weeks visiting 43 cinema foyers across the UK (VUE, ODEON, CINEWORLD), giving consumers an exhilarating preview of 3D content. David Bonney, sponsorship manager at Panasonic UK said: “Panasonic is committed to bringing people closer to the action and our 3D Cinema Roadshow is a great opportunity for visitors to the cinema to experience ground breaking 3D.”
The Panasonic 3D Cinema Roadshow began on 20th May 2011 to also celebrate the launch of Pirates of the Caribbean 4, and will visit cinema foyers across the UK. Those visiting the cinema can experience first-hand Panasonic’s award-winning Full HD 3D technology, view exhilarating content in 3D, and will even have the opportunity to see themselves in 3D!
Justin Ward production director at Closer Live, the experiential agency selected to deliver the campaign said ‘After rigorous research and testing to ensure the technical specification was correct (given we were entering into the 3D world) we agreed on a real life layered approach to the platform.
We looked at how we could create a unique design that brought to life the 3D technology and produce a really inviting piece’
Cinema goers will also have the chance to take advantage of exclusive promotional offers in conjunction with Panasonic’s network of dealers known as the Panasonic Store.
Sally Banks, account manager at Closer Live said ‘Through the strategic selection of high footfall cinema venues in close proximity to dealers, we have developed a campaign with Panasonic which not only drives footfall and sales for the trade but also interrupts consumers when they are in a receptive mindset to 3D. Furthermore the live activity coincides with major blockbuster 3D releases. The activation also enables ongoing dialogue with consumers through data capture via hand held PDA’s and QR code linked mobile-enabled data capture sites.’
