BooBox interactive vending machine set for debut
Ambient Media is set to debut its interactive vending machine at next week’s Marketing Week Live exhibition in London. The BooBox is an interactive “Vending machine” designed to advertise and dispense free products in return for consumer data.
Via the Boobox’s interactive LCD touchscreen, the consumer watches a short brand video or commercial, answers a set of custom questions, and receives a free sample.
Sampling frequency, quantities and patterns are monitored remotely via a GPRS connection. This gives brands live feedback on the campaign and allows Ambient to ensure the BooBox network is kept stocked up to meet the consumers' demands.
The BooBox can also do more than collect data and dispense samples. It can be integrated into campaigns via social media or competitions. For example, the BooBox can collect data and dispense codes, keys or other items to drive the consumer into a retail outlet, showroom or promotional site. Then, the consumer can exchange the code or key etc for a chance to win and to engage further with the brand.
Ambient says that the BooBox can be booked via a ‘network of shopping malls throughout the UK or on an adhoc basis and placed in nearly any location.’
