Fun Fridays aim to improve family experience at Gatwick
In a joint collaboration, Gatwick Airport and Blackjack Promotions have been running “Fun Fridays” this summer, a weekly event to entertain passengers as they travel through the airport before boarding their flight.
Activities run every Friday, from 8am until 1pm, with a new event each week. Attractions include a Barbershop style male quartet, music from a live steel band and break dancers. Children and adults alike can also expect to be entertained by a magician, as well as being treated to a free ice-cream handed out by Gatwick staff as they enter the terminal.
Richard Townsend, customer service improvement manager at Gatwick commented: “Millions of families choose to travel through Gatwick Airport every summer and we're expecting around half a million to travel over the August bank holiday alone. We realise that travelling with children can be stressful at times, so we’re going out of our way to make their journey through the airport more enjoyable. We are sure our Fun Friday entertainment will be enjoyed by all passengers, not just by families, although we recognise this might be a welcome distraction for many parents.”
Gatwick Fun Fridays started on 29th July and is scheduled to run until 9th September.
