Gatwick adds staff for shopping and flight sales advice
Gatwick Airport is now providing retail shopping assistance for passengers to provide awareness of its daily exclusive deals and offers whilst shopping at the airport, with staff provided by Blackjack Promotions.
The promotional staff are positioned after the security desks at the airport, where they are on hand to offer advice to passengers on what deals are available, including sales and flight promotions that are happening at Gatwick and where they can find them.
Carrying Samsung tablet devices the promotional team are asking passers-by if they can assist with any shopping queries whilst they’re visiting the airport, and encouraging general awareness of the deals on offer. The staff will demonstrate what is on offer by using the tablet device to link to a bespoke microsite http://www.gatwickgoodbuys.com/, which is categorised so passengers can carry out specific searches. For example, if the passenger is looking for perfumes to purchase the microsite has a section for fragrances, which displays all the various brands and special offers that are currently available.
John Hackwood, marketing manager at Gatwick Airport, commented: “In addition to the 20% tax-free savings that passengers can benefit from by shopping at Gatwick, we have also introduced Gatwick Good Buys, an initiative that is enabling passengers to make further savings on popular branded items that are currently on offer in our major retail stores. With the support of the Blackjack Promotions staff and the savings that are available we hope our Gatwick Good Buys are a big hit with our passengers."
The Gatwick Good Buys campaign is currently set to run until the end of September 2011.
