Timberland gears up with Sense for Boat Show
In early 2011, Timberland launched the men’s Formentor boat shoe - a modern take on the leather boat shoe which uses an array of technologies to allow the wearer to perform equally on deck or walking in the park - in a stylish, lightweight product, putting Timberland ahead of the competition in innovation and technology. The spring 2012 collection sees the introduction of a women’s version of the Formentor, combining the technologies with the same style and comfort.
In January 2012, ‘The Timberland’ – a specially designed pop up shop in the form of a contemporary sailing boat – will be moored at the Tullett Prebon London Boat Show which runs from January 6th to the 15th at London‘s ExCel exhibition centre.
This innovative stand - created by experiential specialist Sense – will showcase Timberland’s Spring 2012 range of boat shoes. Show visitors will be available to purchase products from the latest range - offering effortless style as well as functionality, including the Formentor Boat Shoe as worn by the Spanish Olympic Sailing Team, alongside the Classic boat shoe and ladies Ballerina slip-ons.
In addition to offering consumers the chance to make early purchases from the new range, there will be a variety of nautical challenges such as ‘The Winch challenge’ – that invites consumers to see how quickly they can wind the winch! In return, branded Timberland prizes will be on offer for the best ‘sailors’ who’ve excelled at these challenges, designed to associate a sense of fun and engagement with the brand, whilst educating and driving awareness amongst sailing enthusiasts as to what Timberland can offer them.
Kelda Reddrop, senior account manager from Sense said: “We’re delighted to be providing Timberland with continued support as they look to further awareness of their boat shoe range”.
